Creating Vignetting and Distortion Corrections for Photographers [Video]

29 April 2025

In this video we create vignetting and distortion correction profiles for use in the lensfun database (and therefore in open-source photo-editing software like Darktable and RawTherapee). We talk about both theory and about practical aspects of doing the corrections. We evaluate the overall quality of our corrections and we compare our corrections to those already in the lensfun database. This comparison shows that creating your own corrections can be worth it!
